About The Seven Lucky Gods

A little good fortune, every day.

The Seven Lucky Gods is a small US shop for the things a day runs on: a clean kitchen sink, a warm bath, a dark bedroom, a tidy bag, a happy dog. We started with a few things for the last hour of the day and grew into a shop for the whole house, and the people and animals in it.

What we carry

  • Home & cleaning: plant-based concentrates, solid dish soap, Swedish dishcloths, beeswax wraps and laundry swaps.
  • Bath & body: mineral and botanical soaks, shower steamers, balms and a few self-care tools.
  • Sleep & cozy: sleep masks, steady sound, pillows, soy candles, incense and an organic cotton blanket.
  • Travel & desk: packing organizers, jewelry and watch cases, a laptop stand and phone stands.
  • Pets & baby: rubber dog toys, wool cat balls, a quiet water fountain, and cotton muslin swaddles and baby blankets.
  • Printables: planners, journals and labels we design ourselves.

Where it comes from

Most of what we sell comes from independent US brands and makers, who ship it to you themselves; each product page names the maker. Some practical tools are made by manufacturing partners in China and ship from supplier warehouses, most of them in the US. Every product page says where it ships from.

What our words mean

We are a shop, not a lab, and we do not test or certify products ourselves. Organic, plant-based, fragrance-free and septic-safe appear on our pages only when the maker uses them, and where a maker names a certification we repeat the name. Natural is our shorthand for goods made mainly from plant, mineral or animal materials. We never say a product kills germs, and we make no health claims. If someone in your home has allergies or sensitivities, read the maker’s full label before you buy.

About our name

In Japanese folklore the Shichifukujin (七福神), the Seven Lucky Gods, are seven deities of good fortune: Ebisu, Daikokuten, Bishamonten, Benzaiten, Fukurokuju, Jurōjin and Hotei. They are said to sail in on the Takarabune, a treasure ship, at the New Year, and our emblem is that little ship. We borrowed the name because it fits the shop we want to be: small, well-chosen everyday things that make a home and a day a little nicer. You will see a light Japanese accent in a few product names (Yutanpo, Chawan, Mabuta) and in how we choose what to stock. Our products are Japanese-inspired, not made in Japan, and we say so. And a name is only a name: nothing we sell promises luck.

How we ship

Items shipped from US warehouses leave in 1–2 business days and usually arrive 3–7 business days after that. Shipping on those is $6.95, and free on orders of $50 or more. Any item that ships from our supplier’s warehouse in China says so on its product page and usually arrives in 8–15 business days, tracked. Items made by independent brands ship from the maker; their rate shows at checkout and they may arrive separately. Every parcel is tracked, and you have 30 days from delivery to decide.
